Our Story

Lika, a picturesque region in Croatia, is known for its breathtaking Plitvice Lakes National Park and its rich historical significance as the birthplace of the renowned inventor Nikola Tesla. For our family, however, Lika holds an even deeper personal connection. It is the place where our father's difficult journey began—a journey that would eventually lead him to the United States in search of a better life and the love of his life.
In 1976, after overcoming numerous challenges, our parents purchased their first home in Westchester, Los Angeles. This house became the foundation of our family, the place where we grew up, and where our parents still reside to this day.
At Lika Living, we are dedicated to creating unique spaces for relaxation and social gatherings. As we continue to grow and evolve, we remain committed to respecting the past while embracing the future. The mission is to create places special enough for you to BE OUR NEIGHBOR.

Our Story

Lika is a region in Croatia that is home to the magical Plivitce Lakes national park and is also the birthplace of Nikola Tesla. It also happens to be the birthplace of my dad and holds a special place in the history of our family. Imagine growing up in a war-torn country without any parents from birth and then courageously escaping a former communist country to start a new life in Austria and then the United States in the 1970’s. My dad ended up living in Echo Park during the 70s and eventually met my mother and purchased their first home in Westchester Los Angeles in 1976. This is the house my sisters and I grew up in and it’s the house my parents still live in to this day.

A word from our Co-Chairmen, Nico (Shitzu) and Jack (Boston Terrier):

We would like all pets to know we insist our humans build with pets in mind. We personally test out all properties to make sure they are dog-friendly and we require quality landscaping and room for play time and zoomies. We hope our future best friends enjoy it as much as we do.
